Very indifferent. I still have no idea what the plot is from the trailer. Just seems to be a lot of similar scenes we're being shown that seemingly will connect together somehow.
Interested to see the movie, but only because it's Nightwish. The trailer hasn't hooked me at all.

But we know the plot, it was in the fanzine and all the interviews and the wikipedia page - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imaginaerum_(film). Or are you just saying the trailer doesn't give a good idea of the plot? /confused

Reading the synopsis on Wiki and looking at the trailer, there's literally no way I'd connect the two. The trailer is vague and flashy. Ryan compared it to Super 8 in that sense, but the guys behind that movie thrive on revealing just enough to get you interested but nowhere near enough to know what's going on. As of yet, any video of Imagineraum has yet to give me any idea of what the movie is actually about. A trailer is meant to make you go "Oh I want to see that!" but instead it's just coming across as artsy without a coherent narrative.

I can't really watch it objectively because I've known the plot for ages. I can see what you mean, though. I wonder what others think who aren't aware of the story? Yours is the only at all negative reaction I've seen so far though, lol.

I do see what snufkin is saying. If I was sitting in a cinema and saw that without knowing the plot, it wouldn't inspire me to go and see it. It is very good visually and looks great quality but to the uninitiated, I don't think it gives enough insight into the story. I can't wait to see the film though...from what the trailer shows, it looks like it will be high quality

That's kind of my point, yeah. Would someone who isn't aware of Nightwish be convinced to go see the movie based on the trailer? I'm not sure.
I am excited and I'll still see it. Trailers aren't great indications of how good a movie will be anyway. Most comedies put all their funny bits into the 2 minute preview...

I think I definitely would see it based on that trailer if it was a random one I saw in the cinema, because it's really beautiful and atmospheric. Plus it looks very Tim Burton/Neil Gaiman style which is my favourite thing. But I'd probably look up what it was about first.

I tested this. I showed it to some of my friends who know nothing about the band, are not into the genre etc. I showed them the trailer today just to gauge reaction as was curious. The replies were "ooh it's mysterious and looks great, something I'd go see"

I agree Hapfairy, it looks very Tim Burtonish and it does look atmospheric. Although the trailer wouldn't inspire me to go see the film, it would push me to go find out more of what the film is about, and then I would make a decision.
You're right Carol, I suppose the mystery behind it can make you curious to see what the film is about. I can't wait for it to come out now.
