Imaginaerum, DPP, End of an Era, Once, Century Child....
Design Your Universe or The Divine Conspiracy by Epica - just a huge soundscape, and Simone has such a beautiful voice. Lucidity by Delain - such variety in the music, and everyone wanted a duet with Sharon den Adel and Marco! Black Symphony by Within Temptation - live orchestra ftw. Frengers by Mew - Just a beautifully quirky, odd, refreshing and yet powerful album And then... (can't believe I'm really going to type this)... Shout it Out by Hanson. Guilty pleaure. I'm sorry

Le gasp D: this is a hard one...
I would take: 1. Dark Passion Play. Because I think I might actually die without it. And if I did die due to lack of food and water I could die happy while listening to it... 2. Once. In case I meet some pirates on the desert island and need to listen to something appropriately piratey i.e. Dark Chest of Wonders or the middle bit of Ghost Love Score. Also because it's my second favourite album. 3. The Unforgiving by Within Temptation. It was a tough one between that and my other favourite (The Heart of Everything) but I think the Unforgiving would be better for my survival. "You can't live without the fire, it's the heat that makes you strong" and so on. 4. Design Your Universe by Epica. Again, it's a very inspirational album and I think it would definitely cheer me up while stranded. Plus if I ran out of things to do I could just listen to Kingdom of Heaven over and over and contemplate quantum physics and the universe and stuff. Or maybe listen to White Waters and have hallucinations about Simone being a mermaid and coming to save me. 5. Wishmaster. Because songs about Disney and Lord of the Rings will somehow be helpful on a desert island? Well no, not really, it's just because I love Wishmaster! XD

Kid A by Radiohead, because it's the best album I've ever heard. Century Child by Nightwish, since it has the proper balance of everything I love about Nightwish spread across all of its songs. Songs like Ever Dream would really keep you going no matter what predicament you're in. Tales Don't Tell Themselves by Funeral for a Friend. It's about a guy getting lost at sea and eventually making it home. I guess that would be inspirational considering you're stuck on an island? The Remote Part by Idlewild. My favourite band, and since the lead singer is from my town, it would be a constant reminder of home. Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Because it's PINK FLOYD.

ooh fun… ok:
NW - Imaginaerum (Obviously need some of my favourite band, and this is their most diverse album with a bit of everything.) Equilibrium - Sagas (My second favourite band, and this album is the definition of epic. As the title suggests, each song is its own epic saga.) Anathema - Weather Systems (Most beautiful music ever) Moonsorrow - Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa (An immense, immersive listening experience, such powerful atmosphere… and the dark icy coldness of it all, reminiscent of desolate tundra, would take your mind off the heat of a desert island.) Sonata Arctica - Live in Finland (3rd favourite band, couldn't just pick one album, and this has bits from most of them, so…)
and I've run out of space, no room for any Devin Townsend, Dream Theater, Eluveitie, any soundtracks… but yeah, those 5.

1) Imaginaerum, because it's my favourite album! 2) Mother Earth by Within Temptation, because it's my favourite WT album, and the songs Mother Earth and In Perfect Harmony are pretty appropriate for trying to survive being stranded on an island. 3) The Divine Conspiracy by Epica...erm...because it's an epic, epic album! 4) Vinland Saga by Leaves' Eyes, it's a concept album about travel and discovering new lands, so when I finally manage to make an escape raft it will be very inspirational. "We sail the sea (Yeah!), We fight the storm (Yeah!)" 5) I really need another Nightwish album...so... Once, because when I'm bored I can teach myself Finnish (sort of) by listening to Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan on repeat. And I won't have to find out whether or not I can survive without Ghost Love Score!
...but, but, that means no Poet and the Pendulum or Sleeping Sun!! This is too hard!
