I'm the same as you Hapfairy, Really not a fan of Twilight. But I love Vampire books/films. Buffy is a favourite of mine, just never got the Twilight craze books or films.

I thought the Twilight books were...ok-ish, but really didn't like the films. Much prefer the traditional stuff like Bram Stoker's Dracula although the book Dracula wasn't as good as I hoped.

Has anyone else read the book Anno Dracula by Kim Newman? It's really awesome, it's basically an imagined version of Victorian times where literary characters from the time are real (e.g. Sherlock Holmes) and Dracula becomes king of England It's pretty mad but I definitely recommend it.

Thanks to those who posted about the 50 Shades book, it was interesting to read what you thought. All 3 books are still selling well so they should help to keep my employer happy and me in a job for a bit longer Anno Dracula sounds interesting hapfairy, I'll have to try and find a copy.

I've just started A Dance With Dragons: Part 2...I have been working my way through the series since Christmas, and really enjoying it. But I now need to find something else to read once I have finished this one.

Well I was reading game of thrones then I lost the paperback copy (nicked at work) so I downloaded it then lost my iphone. so I started watching the DVD instead (cheating I know). In the meantime I went back to my discworld collection. So I have been reading the discworld compaion again recently.
Have now got a new Iphone so will pick up game of thrones again and hopefully finish it this time!

Hope you guys enjoy it, it's a crazy book!
I've recently read Charlotte Street by Danny Wallace (not as amazing as his non-fiction books but still very funny), Heart Shaped Bruise by Tanya Byrne (a depressing but well-written book about a girl in a prison) and I'm now reading Slide by Jill Hathaway, which is about a girl who has narcolepsy and slides into other people's bodies when they fall asleep. It's pretty cool so far.
I'm doing the Goodreads challenge of reading 50 books this year, hence my speed reading!

I have just finished reading Ozzy Osbourne's Autobiography (inspired after seeing them at Download) and I'm about half way through Steven Tyler's Autobiography, I'm a big Aerosmith fan. I'm going to read the Stieg Larsson books next, if I can get them off my sister.

I'm reading Fallen by Lauren Kate. I avoided it for ages because it was always lumped in with Twilight, but then I saw her give a talk and it was brilliant. I'm really loving it so far! It's nothing like Twilight, apart from being vaguely in the same genre.

I'm reading history books about the Georgian era atm.. sad I know but I love history and one book is about the Royal Georgian court so full of gossip and the one I'm just about to start is about everyday life for Georgian woman.
I have just bought Snuff by Terry Pratchett so no doubt I will be diving into that as well. Any other Pratchett readers here?

After finishing A Song of Ice and Fire I felt like something a lot lighter, so I've been reading the Jeeves series by P.G. Wodehouse. I'll always be a huge fan of good old English humour... Just finished The Inimitable Jeeves, about to start Very Good, Jeeves!

I think 'Pratchett reader' would be an understatement for me! ;D I've loved him for about 10 years. Here's my collection (and some dragons and a Pikachu): According to my GoodReads it's 54 books. And I'm still missing some! I'm really hoping to finally achieve my dream of meeting him (or at least watching him give a talk) at the Cheltenham literary festival. I don't think I would have ever become a writer if it wasn't for him. I recently read The Long Earth which he wrote with Stephen Baxter, which was very interesting but a bit disappointing because I didn't realise it was the first in a series and I was expecting answers to all the questions, haha. But now I'm read The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer, which is the final Artemis Fowl book.
