Hi there! We are Lightwish, the UK and Europe's best Nightwish tribute act and will be setting off on our very first UK tour in the early part of next year. We'll be looking to perform a couple of smaller (350 - 500 seat) venues before going on to larger support slots and finally on to Europe! We'd love for any die-hard Nightwish fans to attend these gigs. If anyone is interested, please let us know!! We'll publish more details closer to the time. We pride ourselves on looking and sounding as close to the band as we're able and our aim is to give Nightwish fans the best experience possible. We look forward to making this dream that has been over two years in the making a reality very, very soon. Take care, and see you all soon we hope!

welcome.. It's nice to hear of UK tribute act.
It would be nice if you could tell us more about your band as I'm interested.. and if you come to Manchester then I would love to come and see you perform.
What made you decide to do a tribute to Nightwish seeing as they aren't overly well known in the UK? Also do you do a mix of (sorry to use the words) Old era and new era?

Hi Alex, and thanks for that. We'll keep you informed every step of the way! Nikki! There's a very good chance that one of our first shows will be in the Manchester area, so we'd love to see you there. I originally took my daughter and her friends to see Nightwish at Hammersmith Apollo around six years ago, and was extremely impressed. I started listening to them and the more I heard, the more I liked it! About two years ago I decided I'd like to play the same style of music, but couldn't really find anyone talented enough to write the material. Rather than giving up, I decided I'd see if anyone else had the same drive and passion as I did about the band. After two years of searching, I finally found four like minded individuals who have now made the dream a reality. Our set will be mainly 'Old era' as you put it, but we will also be playing some 'New era' too (Amaranth is already done and dusted, and we hope to be including Last of the Wilds with a live Irish pipes player and violinist!). We'll be shooting some publicity material early in the new year and hope to have a website up and running shortly afterwards, but I'll make sure that sneak previews are available as soon as possible. I'll keep everyone up to date as much as I can, and very much look forward to seeing you all at the first live shows!

Thanks! I've PMd you with details. As you're no doubt aware, even teh best band in the country relies on publicity/promotion to get off the ground. We need to spread the word to as many Nightwish fans as possible, so any help will be most greatfully received!!

Hi once again! Just a quick update to let you all know that rehearsals are starting to move on a pace now. We will be rehearsing untill the middle of December, then taking an extended Christmas/New Year break whilst Alan, our keyboard player jets off to America and Australia to spend time with relatives. We'll be back at it again at the start of February and will be looking to hit the big London sound stage at the back end of February. This will be for our sound engineer to get our live sound finalised, for us to do some full dress rehearsals, and to shoot publicity photos/video for the website. Once done, I'll make sure that the UK fanclub are the first to get sneak previews! Our current set list reads as follows:
Dark Chest of Wonders Everdream Sleeping Sun Nemo Wishmaster Phantom of the Opera Amaranth Wish I Had an Angel Planet Hell
Keep on rocking and I'll speak to you all again very soon!

Just a quick update! Please welcome to the project, Olga Paverova from Slovakia! Olga auditioned for us recently and we are very pleased to say she has now become part of the group. Olga has ten years experience in classical music, and a wonderful soprano voice, which lends itself to the Nightwish songs perfectly. We are now beavering away in rehearsal to get her up to speed, but fortunately, she is a massive Tarja fan and already knows the songs really well. I hope to be posting some sneak preview pics just for you guys in the very near future!

We'll be back in the studio for another couple of rehersals, then, as mentioned, taking an extended Christmas and New Year break whilst members jet off around the world to visit family and friends. We'll be back, raring to go mid February, with a couple of warm up sessions, before heading in to the sound stage for a full dress rehearsal and photo shoot!

Looking at the thread regarding the set-list for the opening gigs this year, I too was disappointed to see "Ghost River" missing, but pleased that "Planet Hell" is there. We'd be very interested in your input to our set list. What would you like to see Lightwish play? Our curent set list is as follows:
Dark Chest of Wonders Nemo Everdream Phantom of the Opera Sleeping Sun Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan Amaranth Storytime Deep Silent Complete She Is My Sin Wishmaster Planet Hell Wish I Had An Angel
