Who likes UK power metal band Pythia? I love this band and can't wait to hear the next album and I'm really impressed they seem to be getting good reviews from Japan and USA. maybe Tom can give us a hint about the new album

I really liked the album Tom sent me... I love this job I get freebies. Tuomas was excited about it too so I'll post his thoughts when I have them

what would be amazing is if we could get Nightwish to have Pythia as it's supporting act ..that would be one hell of a show and would do wonders for the Pythia fanbase if members haven't heard of Pythia here is their first single/video for Sarah (Bury Her)

I found out about Pythia on the last UK Nightwish forum, a post by Tom if I remember correctly. The first album was excellent so I'm really looking forward to the second one. I've only seen them live once, a short support set of about 30 minutes, but I'd definitely recommend going to see them if you get the chance.

aaahh I see Tom was very busy on the old forum twisting arms and other various parts of the anatomy, I think the pain was worth it though .

I got into Pythia through my friend and Tom's son. He kept badgering me to look them up, so I did. I loved their first album and am eagerly awaiting the new release. I saw them last year in Norwich with another band I love called Crimson Tears. I hope to get to see them again when they next do a show in Londinium!

I'm a bit slow commenting on here but yes, they aren't too bad! The new album is pretty much done and the final mix should be back from Jacob Hanson in Denmark any time at all. It's an exciting time as the band have gathered a decent following both here and abroad over the life of the 1st album and a lot of people are going to be waiting for this new one with baited breath! I've heard bits of it but for some reason Emily wants me to hear most of it when it's done rather than at demo stage and i've not given her the satisfaction of appearing too desperate to hear it!! ;D I HAVE seen the album artwork though and it's absolutely stunning! Hopefully once the album is out (around September) there will be some gigs around the country for you to check them out. That's the plan anyway and i'm sure to be travelling with them for most so it'll be nice to catch up with a few of you!

Was lucky enough to catch them warming up at their support slot for Tarja for their first gig and fell in love instantly! Since then I've spent most of my time plugging them to anyone who'll listen, and shouting louder if people stop listening!
Great band and looking forward to the second album.

It may come as a shock to those that didn't know about her rather secret pregnancy that Emily gave birth to a son on Sunday 17th July. Her comment and rather beautiful pic below! 'It is with great joy, Are Kolltveit and I announce the birth of our son 'Saxon Tor Kolltveit.' Saxon arrived amidst a thunder storm at 9.16pm, Sunday 17th of July 2011. At 8 pounds 5, he's a healthy, beautiful baby and we're all doing well. Thank you for all your love and support at this enchanting time.' Also the album is complete but release and gigs were delayed because of this obvious issue! Still on course to get the album out and gigs around October, hopefully throughout the UK! Attachments:

shock isn't the word Tom.. you naughty boy for keeping that secret for so long Please give Emily and family our congrats and best wishes. Emily and little Saxon look so beautiful and healthy in this picture and it's good all the hard work on the album was done before the new Pythian member arrived. What I want to know is how Emily managed to stay sober for that length of time lol but I guess Sound Viking has been drinking her share. Please keep us updated on how they are doing Tom and I hope Pythia/Mediaeval Baebes manage to stop off at Manchester soon.

I seem to spend half my life keeping quiet about female vocalist's pregnancies!! ;D
Despite her well earned reputation Emily is surprisingly disciplined on the drinking front and can stop straight away if she has to although she likes to party when the pressure is off. I've seen her not drink for quite a few days in a row to stay in shape on tour and once she knew she was pregnant she stopped immediately bar a very rare glass of wine here and there.
Sound Viking came out with me to the High Voltage festival at the weekend and we wet the babies head in style! Hopefully i'll get down there to meet Saxon fairly soon once things have settled down. I hope some tour dates will be confirmed soon too. Really not that long before the album and gigs come around!

There will be a single but i can't say much about it yet. There was going to be a video shoot earlier in the year but things got in the way! Also there will be 2 tracks released on Rock Band at the same time if not earlier. People are still downloading Army of the Damned to play on Rock Band even now which is great. When i suggested it i'd have been more than happy to make even a slight loss if it meant getting exposure in a different market but it's actually made a few quid!
