OK, so I've got my CD of the Score (although thanks to HMV, the jewel case is damaged), uploaded it to my iTunes, playing it as I write. I notice the total track length is under 54 mins. Does this mean the film is only this long?
Anyway, this aside, its great to hear the album presented in a different format. This production is as mind-blowing as the main vocal CD. More proof that Tuomas is, in fact a complete and utter genius.

There are parts of the movie with no songs, also Scaretale and Slow Love Slow are not on the score. Movie is 80 something minutes I think.

Ah, thanks for that. I kind of thought there might be bits with no music, after listening for a second time. Looking forward to seeing the film now.

Having seen the film Carol & Alex.. did you find the music got lost in the dialogue/action at all or did it stand out in it's own right?
I adore the cd.. played it everyday since it arrived and I was impressed at how good Anette sounded on this.

I actually found myself concentrating on the music more than the plot at times. It was very prominent, maybe a bit too much (trying to remember the song) was a scene with Ann and Gem in Whitman's home and she put a song on (Turn lose the mermaids?) and it was quite loud and overpowered that scene imo

I really love the score, it is soo my cup of tea. It's the sort of music i listend to and loved, as i was growing up instead of mainstreem pop. Before i descoverd rock metal and ofc NW. So listening to it takes me back to somewhere...... It is very cinematic isnt it, i can just imagine it in suround sound, with the lights down low. Ohhh hope i get to see it at the cinema one day too. My TV is only 26" ;D

I've still not heard the Score! kind of want to wait until I've seen the film first but I don't know if I'll be able to wait that long

Hannleigh, I wish I listened to the score first. Simple reason as above, I found myself trying to concentrate on the score and I missed plot line. If I had known how the score is before I saw the film, I think I would of concentrated more on the plot and got into it more.

Hmm that makes sense, I'd probably do the same and focus too much on the music...ok, I'll order the score now! Tbh I probably would have ended up listening to it before the film anyway with everyone saying how amazing it is

I love it.. played it about 10 or more times since it arrived and every-time I pick up on something different.. the choir or the the backing tunes going on with some instruments etc. Even though I haven't seen the film, like all good instrumental/score music you get images or feelings as you hear it, the orphanage airlines one is a good example. I first listened without reading the track listing and Orphanage Airlines just by sound alone had me taking off in a plane as the engines rev up.. the bumpy drive down the runway.. the plane taking off then it going up through the clouds up into the clear sky above the cloud bank.. then soon it hitting turbulence etc as it enters storm clouds with lightening streaking across the sky, the calm as it enters the eye of the storm then it loosing control and plummeting back to the ground when it comes out of the eye and back into the storm cloud.
